I feel like this post title will be recurring theme - as both Greta and Molly say some hilarious/incredibly insightful things.
This was from about 2 weeks ago, when Nana and I took the girls to LLBean on a hunt for some swimming goggles that I saw there, since the girls were about to start their swimming lessons. First I had to return some shoes that were the wrong size for Greta, so as I was waiting in line at the returns desk, I told Nana she could take the girls over to the trout pond by the stairs. (for those of you not familiar, there is a little indoor pond on the main floor of LLBean, and there are actual trout swimming in there). The girls like to climb on the rocks surrounding the pond and watch the fish. There is a large sign above the water letting people know not to toss coins in this pond as it could harm the fish.
I finished my return (no hassle, even without a receipt!) and joined them at the pond. The girls both noticed there were a few pennies in the water so I told them what the sign overhead said, and that we could not toss coins in there.
A half hour later, we finished our shopping, and left the store. On our way out, the girls wanted to look at the outdoor fountain/pond. There were no fish in this pond and many people toss coins and make wishes. I handed each girl a penny and told them to toss it in and make a wish.
Of course, after they tossed their coins, I asked what their wishes were. I had to know in case there was some great gift ideas, or something like that.
Molly wished for: a fairy present (mysterious fairies have occasionally left little trinkets for the girls while they are sleeping), and Easter candy.
Greta wished for: no more smoking and that no one would throw coins in the fish pond.
I just wanted to hug both girls - Molly's wishes were light and fluffy and Greta's were so selfless.
They're so sweet.
